Look North for Yorkshire and the north Midlands covers the areas of south and west Yorkshire and north Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire - served by BBC Radio Leeds and BBC Radio Sheffield. The programme also covers much of North Yorkshire, served by BBC Radio York - although the northern and northeastern parts of the county tend to receive Look North for the North East & Cumbria, and areas in the east of the county receive Look North for East Yorkshire & Lincolnshire.
The programme formerly included the East Yorkshire & Lincolnshire areas in its coverage, latterly with an opt within the 6.30pm evening programme and later the full evening programme was separated. However by 21 June 2004, it became a full broadcasting area in its own right, with its headquarters in Hull, branded 'BBC Yorks & Lincs' - leaving the Leeds programme area to be branded 'BBC Yorkshire'.
