BBC Wales has produced television news bulletins for Wales since 1957. Initially titled 'News For Wales', the programme was renamed 'Wales Today' in 1962, although until 1964 it was still presented as a double news bulletin, together with 'Points West' for the Westcountry.
The same studio is shared for Newyddion (BBC Cymru's Welsh language news provision to S4C), as well as numerous other local news programmes, including Ffeil and the now defunct 2W News.
BBC Wales Today is one of few BBC regional news programmes to be fronted by a single presenter - the two main presenters are Jamie Owen and Lucy Owen.
