Channel 4 marked its 25th anniversary during October and November 2007, showing special and archive programming, and also exclusively using presentation featuring the coloured blocks of the 1980s and 1990s. These were updated slightly to make the blocks sharper, and adapted to 16:9 widescreen ratios, however the soundtracks on idents were unaltered.
The technology used by the idents at the time they were originally introduced in 1982 was groundbreaking, and they lasted (albeit with a slight change of sountrack) for 14 years.

A special report featuring archive footage of Channel 4 News over 25 years was shown on 2 November 2007.

Special vintage adverts were played during commercial breaks between the Channel 4 at 25 programme on 3 November 2007.
