The ITV Evening News is the Monday to Friday early evening news bulletin on the British television network ITV. It is produced by ITN. The main newscasters are Mark Austin and Mary Nightingale. The ITV Evening News is a thirty minute news programme covering British national and international news stories, broadcast at 18:30 from Monday to Friday. In the event of a major news story, one of the programme's presenters will front the first ten to fifteen minutes of the programme from the scene of the story. The other newscaster will remain in the studio and read the day's other news.
On Monday 9th February 2009, the Evening News was given a new look, with an evening backdrop of the London landscape replacing the ITN atrium view, which had been the main backdrop since January 2006. This new look was part of ITV's attempt to make all its bulletins similar to the backdrop and design of the News at Ten set.
