Free Weekend Pass - September 2009
The original brief stated that Sky3 was to act as 'a shop window' for Sky's satellite subscription service. Unfortunately the channel has never lived up to its press release and quickly settled into a schedule consisting of tired BSkyB programming. But for one weekend in September 2009 the channel was used as it was originally intended. From Friday 18th-Sunday 20th of September, Sky3 gave up its schedule to showcase programmes aired by channels broadcasting on Sky's pay TV platform. The channel linked up with a wide range of broadcasters (including premium services, Sky Sports and Sky Movies) to bring Freeview and Freesat viewers a taster of Sky's offerings.
The freeview weekend was dubbed the 'Free Weekend Pass'. Below are images and videos of how the promotion was advertised.
